Is it possible to place a title in between photos not on the photo using Photos Application in making slideshow, or using iMovie?

No, but a workaround is to create a blank photo to put the text onto.
One way to do this is to create a very small screenshot of the colour you want. Then drag it into the library.
Or just use an image editor to make a blank image, and put that in the library
You can then add them to the slideshow, and put text on them.
