Trackpad while typing

I use a macbook pro. Whenever I am typing, my wrist touches the trackpad and it moves the cursor as I am typing. Is there a way to disable this? Is there a workaround?

I understand when a wrist is detected that the trackpad turns off however, I only have one hand - so I float over the keyboard. My wrist never just sits on the trackpad.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.5

I recently helped another user with the Trackpad issue. I believe the only way is to use a mouse or wireless trackpad and configuring the Accessibility System Preferences to "Ignore built-in trackpad when using mouse or wireless trackpad" option.

Or you can use an external keyboard instead.
