I don't want iCloud for anything but to open LETTERS documents on a PC.

Does anyone use this program? Do you know how to avoid putting all of the other crap they want you to install (Photos, Bookmarks, passwords....). I don't need that crap - I just need to be able to open files for work.

Windows, Windows 10

Don't select the features you don't wand to use. See the following from Set up iCloud for Windows on your PC - Apple Support

Select or deselect each feature, then click Apply.

Another method is don't install iCloud for Windows. Instead, use an internet browser and log into iCloud.com; but if you download a file from there and edit it you will need to upload it afterwards to keep the changes to the file synced with your other devices.
