I phone 6 plus and series 8 watch

My watch will not pair with my I phone 6 plus and cannot seem to upgrade to iOS 16

You iPhone 6 is too old and cannot be upgraded to iOS 16. To use the Apple Watch 8, you will need a newer iPhone that can update to iOS 16. Please see the list below:

No, the iPhone 7 will not upgrade to iOS 16. You need an iPhone 8 or newer. Please see the chart above.
