How do I get this file into the trash?

I try and it throws this error... it's a jpeg file

The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50).

Help!

Start with this...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes or more.
