Wifi won’t turn on MacBook Pro 2015

I was using my 2015 MacBook Pro recently when all of the sudden the wifi disconnected. I then realized no networks were popping up even though my phone was connected to the wifi. In the top right corner with all the symbols the wifi one said it was on but in system preferences it says it’s off and won’t allow me to turn it on. I’ve tried restarting the laptop and the router. Nothing has worked. Any suggestions for getting wifi back on the laptop?

Try booting into Safe Mode to see if you can connect to the WiFi. If this works, then you most likely have some third party software installed which is interfering with the normal operation of macOS.

Try creating a new Network Location and setting up the WiFi fresh. You can also create a new macOS admin user account, log out of the current user and log into the new user account. See if WiFi is working properly.
