Please give the complete specs of the system from About This Mac. What’s the OS? What’s the FCP version? What exactly are the media specs? Where is the media stored? What are the project properties? How big is the system drive? How much free space is on the system drive?

Post an EtreCheck report https://etrecheck.com giving the application Full Disk Access in Privacy System Preferences. Copy the report and use the Add Text button to paste the result into reply box.

Thanks.

It does look much cleaner now - but see below for some things that may need to be looked at.

I noticed that Final Cut Pro Trial has hung:

2022-09-23 10:24:57 Final Cut Pro Trial.app Hang

Executable: /Applications/Final Cut Pro Trial.app

Whenever the application hangs, crashes or somehow behaves erratically, it is best to delete its preferences.

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.

The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.

Maybe this will be enough.

As noted above, there are still a few things we can take care of:

In the Clean Up section, there are remnants of stuff that is no longer installed. These are not doing anything, but could take same (though small).

Clean up:

/Library/LaunchAgents/com.Securifera.ig.plist

/Library/Securifera.ig/Securifera.ig.app/Contents/MacOS/Securifera.ig

Executable not found

/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.examsoft.ExamplifyService.plist

/Applications/Examplify.app/Contents/Resources/ExamplifyService/ExamplifyService

Executable not found

You can use the Clean Up section of Etrecheck to remove them.

User Login Items:

[Loaded] helper_update (Not signed)

Application

~/.zsh/misc/helper_update

This sounds fishy. Go to System Preferences->Users & Groups, click Login Items, select this and click "-" to remove it.

Launch Agents:

[Other] com.Securifera.ig.plist (Not signed - installed 2022-09-21)

[Not Loaded] com.chab.plist (Not signed - installed 2022-09-21)

Do you know these things? Did you deliberately install them?

The first of them is in an unusual state ("Other"); the second has a malformed reverse url... and neither of them appear on the list of recent installs, even though they seem to have been installed two days ago.

Regarding sharing, try creating a new test project, add a clip or two, Share. Does it work?

Sometimes there can be some subtle corruption with one specific project. Hence the test above, to see if it is sharing in general or just that project.

If it turns out that the issue is with one project, the usual solution is to select all, copy, and then new project, paste. Usually then the new project works.

Major Issues:

Anything that appears on this list needs immediate attention.

Malware - Malware detected.

Unsigned files - There are unsigned software files installed that could be malicious and should be reviewed.

Heavy CPU usage - Some processes are using an unusually high amount of CPU.

As the report shows, you have a bunch of things that are at the very least suspicious:

Malware:

Launchd: /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.remcored.plist

Executable: /Library/remcored/remcored

Reason: Malware pattern match

Unsigned Files:

Launchd: ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.HculO.plist

Executable: ~/Library/yQaOi/NOXqJ

Launchd: /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.5dVyY.plist

Executable: /Library/4Rtkm/Lwao4

Details: Domain name invalid - possibly malware

Launchd: ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.remcore.plist

Executable: ~/Library/remcore/remcore

Running app: /Library/resecrete-tapmost/ikNhRVny/chab

Login Item: ~/.zsh/misc/helper_update

Sorry for the delay.

In Finder, press Command-Shift-G and paste

/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.remcored.plist

Drag the file to the trash. You may be asked for your password. Type it when requested.

Repeat with the other files you need to delete:

/Library/remcored/remcored

~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.HculO.plist

~/Library/yQaOi/NOXqJ

/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.5dVyY.plist

/Library/4Rtkm/Lwao4

~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.remcore.plist

~/Library/remcore/remcore

/Library/resecrete-tapmost/ikNhRVny/chab

~/.zsh/misc/helper_update

Then restart your mac, and empty the trash.

Run Etrecheck again and post the new report, so we can see if there are some bits and pieces remaining.

As for the launch agents, I have no idea what that is

You mean you did not intentionally install anything like those two things, two days ago?

If that is the case, delete them as the others:

In Finder, press Command-Shift-G and paste each of these two in turn, then trash, restart:

/Library/LaunchAgents/com.Securifera.ig.plist

/Library/LaunchAgents/com.chab.plist
