No notifications available when phone is unlocked

I have an iPhone 14 Pro running iOS 16.0.1. I am able to see notifications if I swipe up from near the bottom on the Lock Screen. Once the phone is unlocked, swiping down from the top locks the phone rather than opening the Notification Center. Swilling from the bottom only brings up the app changer.

Hi, briang30.

To clarify, do you mean that when you swipe down the screen is actually locking (as in the same thing that happens when you press the side button on your iPhone)?

If you're seeing what looks like your Lock Screen, this is normal and is your Notification Center. If notifications aren't showing here, we'd recommend making sure they are set up to show there as outlined in Use notifications on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"Change alert styles

  1. Go to Settings and tap Notifications.
  2. Select an app under Notification Style.
  3. Under Alerts, choose the alert style that you want. If you turn on Allow Notifications, choose when you want the notifications delivered—immediately or in the scheduled notification summary.

"

We hope this helps.

Cheers.
