No audio through built-in speakers

Even after erasing all content and setting, there is no audio to the built-in speakers. Tried playing audio from the Safari browser and also tried audio saved to the computer.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.3

Followed those instructions and there is still no audio. Will send device to Apple to repair.
