My touch control part of the remote isn’t working

The touch control part of my Apple TV remote isn’t working - any suggestions?

it won’t respond correctly to touch but the remote is still working - just not correctly.

Apple TV 4K, tvOS 15

What is your model remote? Identify your Apple TV remote - Apple Support

Try restarting just the remote, as detailed in: If your Apple TV remote isn't working - Apple Support

Also verify the setting for the clickpad (in case of Siri Remote (2nd generation)): Settings﹥Remotes and Devices﹥Clickpad﹥Click and Touch|Click Only.
