App Store popup keeps asking me to sign in every day

Every day a pop up from the App Store asks me to sign in. If I sign in, the next day it will ask me to sign in. If I hit cancel, the next day it will ask me to sign in.

What is this? How do I make it stop asking me?

The App Store is closed, I'm not running it, so it shouldn't be trying to log in. If it's not the App Store, what is it? How do I find out and tell it to stop?

My computer details:

Macbook Pro, 15" Mid 2014

Big Sur, 11.6.1

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.13

Thank you for your reply, and for letting us know.

Re: Is there a way to find out what exactly is forcing the popup?

As the pop-up does seem to be App Store related:

You might want to reach out the App Store Support Team:

There is a "Get Support" link at the bottom of their web-page (link below)

App Store - Official Apple Support

or

if you want:

There's a webpage for sending feedback to Apple (link below).

They likely won't reply, yet your comments would reach those able to make changes via future updates.
