iOS 16 Screen Flickering

15.7 is still being signed, it’s just not listed on ipsw website because it was released as just an OTA update to phones but the 15.7 official ipsw does exist and i would send you the link but idk if i can post links on here

and the issue that you keep denying to be existing on “millions of phones” is also not a device specific issue, it’s happening on 11 PM, all the 12s and the non proMotion 13s, so this issue seems to exist on non-promotion OLED displays and it is most definitely a real one

as I mentioned before, the issue doesn't seem to exist on proMotion displays, try it on a normal 13 or a 13 mini and lower and you'll see a subtle flicker whenever you interact with the display on lower brightness on 40%< brightness on gray backgrounds.

If there is a problem that happens on iOS 16.0.x and gets resolved on downgrading to 15.7 (troubleshooting as possible by the end user), it definitely warrants a fix from Apple, there are no two ways about this!!

I still have screen flickering when brightness is set below 40% on my iPhone 12 mini after updating to IOS 16.1

I’m also facing the same issue after updating to the latest version of ios 16. It usually happens while typing something. I see that the whole display is flickering for some reason. I saw many people noticing it primarily on grey background. To my surprise, it’s happening on light background also. Apple please fix this issue.

I’m also facing this issue in my new iphone 13 with ios 16.0.2 . when i type anything on lower brightness the display lighlty blinking and use linkdin horizontal scroll then display blinking also. apple need to fix it asap.

What is “enough?” It was beta tested for 3 months by over a million users. Do you think another few days would have made a difference>

Had the same thing, even got my screen changed from an apple authorised service centre and yet no change. The issue still persists and I'm not even sure if I should update to iOS 16.0.3. What if it has more bugs than before or the flickering issue aggravated.

What makes you think that Apple Support is helping out with this? Even they don't know what the problem is! They reinstalled iOS on my device which didn't solve the problem, even changed the screen too and yet no fix. What am I supposed to do now then?

I have tried very hard to reproduce it on an iPhone 14 Pro, following the description in the original post in this thread, and I am unable to. I’ve tried lots of light and dark screen settings, and lots of brightness settings, and I don’t see in on any screens.

You can for as long as 15.7 is signed, but you will lose all data on your phone and you will have to either restore a backup made before you updated or manually reinstall all your apps. You will not be able to restore a backup made with iOS 16.

I already mentioned in one of my previous posts that I have submitted the bug report to apple. Forums by design are meant to be used by the public (end users) to figure out how widespread an issue is, and at some level the companies too use this information.

i updated to iOS 16.0.3, it did not fix the issue but somehow it is much less noticeable now. i have to really focus on my keyboard while type to see the flickering.

hopefully iOS 16.1 or the next major release will fix this issue.

There is screen flickering on iPhone 13 mostly viable on grey shades when brightness is less than half but if we notice not deploy screen is flickering on white and other clours also but it is little hard to see
