Factory resetting iPod touch

Got my iPod touch used and I’m trying to factory reset it so I can put my info in it and set it up so I can use it but I have no clue who and how to get ahold of its original owner

If the problem is activation lock, you will not be able use it without knowing the original ID and Password. See Activation Lock for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

For factory resetting, refer to - Erase iPod touch - Apple Support

If you have purchased the iPod from a reseller, try to get in touch with them.

Unless the original owner has marked the device as lost with a contact message on the iPod, or their contact is on their Medical ID (on the Lock screen, tap Emergency > Medical ID), there is no way to contact the owner.
