dd-mm-yyyy in Calendar with US settings

My MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020) running Monterey (12.6) is set to System Preferences/Language & Region to US (custom), I have changed the settings under System Preferences/Language & Region/Advanced to dd-mm-yyyy, the Calendar app continues to show it as mm-dd-yyyy, which I can't abide, since I live in Europe, plus it seems completely illogical to me anyway. I work in a second language AND in US English, so I need other settings on the computer to conform to US English, such as spelling. Is there a way to make the Calendar app conform to the settings in the customized System Preferences without changing the region?

Hey there CrassBrauer,

We'd like to look into what's happening within the Calendar app on your Mac by confirming our understanding of what's happening, along with ruling out some basics:

  1. You mentioned having your Mac set to the US region, but currently live in Europe. While this may be playing a role in how the Calendar app shows dates, we wanted to ask where exactly in the Calendar app are you seeing this format?
  2. You also mentioned moving around the format for the date under System Preferences > Language & Region > Advanced, but have you noticed the change you made in any other apps/features in your Mac?
  3. Have you also tried going under System Preferences > Language & Region > Apps, then adding Calendar with the UK format?
  4. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section 'Restart' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac

Cheers!
