When would Apple stop the companion iPhone requirement for family set up Apple Watch? My kid can’t even install a music app he likes!

Family Watch Apps I recently set up a family watch for my 11yo. After the initial setup, I added Amazon music as an app for her to listen to music. I think the app had an update but just a few days after using it, my daughter said the app was gone. When I went to the App Store, there was a message that said: due to restrictions on this device, the app can’t be downloaded. After quite a bit of searching, I turned off the content restrictions and the app returned to her screen. My question is: is there a way to keep the restrictions on and still be able to gets apps for her on the watch? Thanks.

Apple watch family setup will not allow any additional apps to be added to an (under 12) child's apple watch? Hi There, It seems that we are unable to add apps to an apple watch that is set up under family setup. Is this because my child is under 12 or is it that this is the case regardless? In other words, are there any apple watch apps that do not require an iphone app? Is there a list of apps available that can be uploaded to a family setup apple watch? My child's apple watch indicates all apps are available but when we go to dowload we are blocked... Given this is one of the key features of the apple watch we are a bit disappointed...
