Duplicate songs reappearing on iPhone

I have deleted duplicate songs from my iPhone 13 Pro, and after syncing, many reappear. However, when I view the songs on my phone from iTunes on my PC, there is only one instance shown. I need to know how to prevent this from happening again and again and again. Thank you.

Hello dagee446,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to help resolve the duplicate music issue so you can enjoy your music again.

It sounds like the songs are being downloaded after the sync, to create the duplicate. See here:

"If you can't delete your music

  • Turn off computer syncing: If you used a USB cable to manually sync music from your Mac or PC to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can turn off syncing to remove content.
  • Check if the item is downloaded: If you see the Download icon next to a song, it's downloaded on your device. If you don't see the Download icon, the song isn't downloaded."

This Apple Support page has the full details: Delete music in the Apple Music app - Apple Support

If this doesn't resolve the issue, double check iTunes to see if the duplicates are there.

We hope this helps to get your music to sync as you want without the duplicates.

Cheers!
