Same route different distance

Jog with my wife this morning, same route, same time, side by side, but get a very different result.

I use Apple Watch 7 and my wife use Apple Watch 5. Both watch OS version is 9.0.

Both GPS on the watch tracks identical path in the map, no position jumping. But we have 1.5 km diference in distance.

How this is posibble? Anyone can explain?

Apple Watch Ultra underestimating distance by 5% I’ve recently gotten into running after having an Apple Watch Ultra for 18 months. Now it’s started annoying me as I run with my friends with Garmins and other watches that all give them 5% more distance over the same circuit. Strava and their watches say this circuit round KLCC park is 1.36km my Apple Watch Ultra believes it’s 1.25km and 8 laps is exactly 10k which is really more like 10.5 on all my friends gadgets. i recently traded it in for an Apple Watch Ultra 2 hoping this would fix the issue and for the first lap it gave me the right distance 1.35km, I was so happy until the second lap where it seems to have recalibrated itself to be wrong and the same as the old watch. Is my only solution to get the correct distance and therefore pace to buy a Garmin? This would seem such a shame. Please help.

Apple Watch shows GPS map but doesn‘t track distance Hi everyone, I purchased my first Apple Watch (a series 7) a few days ago. I just completed my first run with it, using the workout app (outdoor run) and it started the timer. However I soon noticed it continuously said „0 meters“ which I found weird. When I arrived home, and ended the workout, it tracked a 1h06 minute outdoor run, with a HR of 168bpm on average, but with 0 meter distance and 0 calories burnt. What makes it even weirder is that using the fitness app on my iPhone I can SEE the map of where I ran, so the GPS seems to work just fine. Any ideas on whats wrong and how I can fix it? Would be greatly appreciated! Cheers! PS: All my activity rings for today are at 0 to for today…

Apple Watch Ultra distance wrong after watchOS 10 update I’ve ran the same 5K for almost 3 years- 148 times. In that time, I’ve had 3 Apple Watches and went though numerous software updates. Never, not once, has distance been incorrect. I updated to watchOS 10 yesterday and today, my 3.1 mile run reported as 2.86 miles. I have never needed to calibrate my watch except when I first started running 3 years ago. Totally not cool, apple. Not cool. [Re-Titled by Moderator]
