Siri playing remixes, Apple Music, HomePods
Recently, within the last month or so, whenever Siri is asked to play a song, she always chooses to play a remixed version of it and not the original song by the artist. I’m currently using HomePod minis with an Apple Music subscription, and all HomePods are up to date with version 16.0.
So, for example, if the request is “Hey Siri, play (Song) by (Artist),” her reply is “Playing (Song) by (Artist), EDX Dubai Skyline Remix.” Not what I wanted. So I’ll say “Hey Siri, this is the wrong song,” and she acknowledges that it’s not what I wanted to hear. Try again, same result.
I’ve also tried “Hey Siri, not this one.” Siri then chooses ANOTHER remix of the song. Repeat “Hey Siri, not this one” and she’ll play the correct, original version. But then the next time that song is requested, it’s back to remixes.
Is anyone else having these issues? It seems like maybe Siri is just choosing the most recent addition to the Apple Music library and completely ignoring the original song that’s 6 months older.
Is there a way to exclude remixes? Or to choose original artist’s versions only? Any help would be appreciated because while I love Siri and my HomePod minis, it’s extremely frustrating to spend 2 minutes rephrasing my request to play a single song.
Thank you for your help.
