I am on Catalina and do not want to upgrade at the risk of Pro Tools not not being compatible. In the meantime I cannot connect my iphone to my mac! Also, my Photo folder has disappeared from my macbook!!

if you are certain of the name, you can use Spotlight to search for your Photos folder.
You can also launch Photos, and see whether it can already find you Photos file, in which case there is no emergency, just make a note of its location.
In the meantime I cannot connect my iphone to my mac!
