why does the new islamic day not start at sunset

The islamic day starts at sunset.. yet the iPhone/watch does not reflect this... why can't the code link the start of the new day to the sunset data on the phone?

No one here in this user-to-user forum would know why the interface is the way it is. You can, however, let Apple know your thoughts on the matter here:


Product Feedback - Apple


It is my understanding that the iPhone gets its various calendar settings from Settings>General>Language & Region. As "Islam" is not a country or region, I'm not sure how that would work.


ETA: I just realized there isn't an Islamic calendar on the iPhone. There is Gregorian, Buddhist, and Japanese. So, where are you seeing this Islamic calendar?
