BACK UP IPHONE TO MY COMPUTER

I used to be able to back up my iPhone manually through iTunes and now it shows the latest back-up as June 2022 and the "back up now" option is not available---only "restore." I cannot even "sync" since that is not available as an option anymore. How can I fix this?
