how to delete Acrobat Pro DC

Unlike other applications, I am unable to delete Acrobat Pro DC. I see Adobe Acrobat in the launchpad. And when I search for acrobat, I see several adobe icons (see attached screenshot)

However, when I hold down the command key, the icons shake but I never see the an 'X' to delete any of these applications. When I open a pdf, I simply want Adobe Acrobat to open, not Acrobat Pro DC that wants me to pay.

Hello ann22301,

Since safe mode can delete certain caches on startup, start up your Mac in safe mode to troubleshoot, and then try again to uninstall the program.

Here's how to start up in safe mode: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

"Start up your Intel-based Mac in safe mode

  1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key until you see the login window.
  2. Log in to your Mac.
  3. You might be asked to log in again.
  4. On either the first or second login window, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar."
