Is it possible to lock the messages app on my mac?

I'd like to be able to lock the messages app on my MacBook under a passcode, but I haven't found anything that says it is a possibility. Is there a lock option that I'm missing?

MacOS Messages app not showing all messages The Messages app on my MacBook Air and my iPad shows some messages, but not all. It seems random - there's no apparent pattern to which messages appear and which don't. This started immediately after I changed my Apple password a few weeks ago. I've tried signing out of Messages and back in, but that didn't change anything.

You cannot. But, your user account lock on your Mac should be sufficient.
