ios16 not syncing photos from Big Sur Photos library

Have updated the iphone XS Max to ios 16.0.02. Photos will not sync from mid 2015 iMac photos running Big Sur. The error that appears during sync says “iPhone cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found.” On iMac sync window.. Photos will not display any of the albums have in Photos App either. Photos will only sync if select a folder from elsewhere on the mac. Did a full restore on iphone and set up as a new phone, to no avail.

Resolved.. go to folder with Photos Library. Right click. Select package contents. Locate iPod Photo Cache. Throw away to trash. Photos sync normally.
