iPad Safari randomly displaying thumbnails for tabs
Safari occasionally displays a thumbnail for an open-but-not-displayed tab and drives me insane. It looks like the attached picture. What the heck is this? How can I stop it?
iPad Pro, iOS 11

Hi ledelste, We appreciate you reaching out to us. We understand that Safari occasionally displays a thumbnail for a tab that is in the background.
We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.
Is the device running a version of iPadOS 11?
If yes, we recommend that you check for a software update.
While it isn't inherently assured that an update will resolve the issue, updating to the latest software version for your device can help isolate potential software issues.
Kindly secure a backup and update.

Hey ledelste,
If you haven’t already, try restarting your iPad. This can often fix issues like the one you’re describing. Here’s how to restart:
1. Press and hold either volume button and the top button until the power off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo.

ledelste,
Having the latest software installed can help with overall performance, so it's a good idea to make sure you have a recent backup and update to iPadOS 15.7, as this may resolve the issue you've described: Apple security updates.
Best regards.

No, not on an old version of iPadOS - I’m on 15.6.1.
Thanks, @barberlives123. This phenomenon has occurred for a long time on my iPad, and I’ve restarted it plenty of times during that period. It’s still occurring.
Already on the latest, 15.7
