iCloud Photos - I don't want them to sync - I just want a shortcut

Hi,

Just as my topic states:

I don't want my iCloud Photos to sync to my computer and use up a lot of drive space (well, honestly, this is what I've heard happens - I use another cloud storage service usually and have done since it was called SkyDrive).

I know how to sync or not-sync via my Apple ID-setting - but I want a better way to access my photos on my computer without going via Safari and iCloud.com . I can't find an app or any solution - does anyone know if there is any? I do not need it to be offline, I want to be able to put up a shortcut in my finder window like I have to my iCloud Drive and other places - but to my photos.
