Remove Recent Contacts from Messages App - iOS 16

How do you remove Recent Contacts from Messages App in iOS 16???!!!!

The reason for this is because the incorrect number is showing up in the recent contacts search in messages.

In previous iOS iterations you could go to Messages App, then tap the + in the top right, type the name then hit the “i” icon to bring up the contact info and then there would be “remove from recents” in red text.

There is no longer an “i” button in iOS 16 and has been replaced with a “>” button and no more option to “remove from recents”.

Help please.
