I have read there is no need for camera lens protectors on the new iphones is this true?

I read that there’s no need to put a protector over your iPhone’s camera lenses. The lenses are made from sapphire and are very scratch-resistant and durable an they're the least likely part of the phone to break or scratch. I don't wish to use a protector that alters the quality of my photos and videos. I always place my phone in my empty pocket and have not used a lens protector in the past. I want to make sure I am doing the right thing for my new iphone 14 Por Max. Is this true?

My phone has the best clear Otter case and screen protectors. I never drop my phone but if I did it’s got the best protection available. I don’t need to look like John Wayne or an old guy from the nineties wearing a phone on my hip. My cotton pockets are fine. I was just curious about the article I read stating the “lenses are made from sapphire and are very scratch-resistant and durable an they're the least likely part of the phone to break or scratch” and don’t need a lens protector. Thanks anyway.

Well, I would never put a $1,500 phone in my pocket, unless it was in a slip case, so I can’t really relate to your situation. The lens assembly is quite large on your phone, and, while I don’t think a lens protector is needed, a slip case or folio case would be a good idea. I carry my iPhone in a belt holster where it is well protected. Fashion be darned when $1,500 is at stake.
