I bought a MacBook Air 13 and it still has the old owner name and stuff how do I change it so I can have my Apple ID connected to my Mac and everything else. Also it looks like it needs to update but it says there’s no software update.

No one has that information.


Apple values your privacy and has safeguards in place to ensure that no one can access the device.


You will need to reach out to the owner because it is the owner’s responsibility to properly erase the device before selling it.


Until then, it is locked. 🔐

Unlock this from the Seller's Account:

Te seller needs to sign themselves out if it. This is the link that the seller should have used prior to selling it to you: What to do Before you Sell, Give Away, or Trade in your Mac - Apple Support. The seller should have known better.
