Watch Ultra shows No Sim \ No connection \ Not in use

After the update to watchOS 9.0.1 my Ultra watch shows the following info under Mobile Service:

Plan - No Sim

Status - No Connection

And in the Watch App it shows my Vodafone plan under the label NOT IN USE.

I mention that the watch worked just fine before the update, I tried the following but nothing works:

  • Restart watch
  • Restart Phone
  • Removed provider plan
  • Add new plan (the provider confirmed the second plan is active)
  • Restart both devices a couple of times.

If anyone has any ideas or knows how to fix this issue please help!

Thanks!

I had this issue and just solved it for my situation. I removed the Cellular plan and then went to re-add the plan. On re-adding the plan the E911 address needed to be added and verified for WiFi calling. Once that was confirmed the watch connected to the cellular plan.

Updating to 9.0.2 didn’t create any issues for me. FYI: I did not update my phone at all during this time, only the watch.

Because it seems that, at least for my carrier (Vodafone), it takes some time to run it’s backend processes to update the changes made by the user in frontend it could be a couple of hours or maybe more…

My advice is to clear the configuration from the watch and from the carrier account, wait a full 24h cycle and then set up the connection again.

Best of luck!🤞🏼
