I have tried many times to change the address and details on my contact card and it will not update- it always reverts back to the old info. what am I doing wrong?

Contacts originate on email servers; go to Settings/Contacts/Accounts and see which account or accounts are providing the contacts for your iPhone. Any that provide contact sync will say “contacts” in the description.

No- I mean the contact card in my phone.
Every time I change it it reverts back to the old address (physical home address)
I seems to be connected to Icloud but I do not see my physical address on Icloud to change it on my desktop.
If you mean the address associated with your Apple ID either log into https://appleid.apple.com, or go to Settings/[your name]/Name, Phone Number, email, and also Payment & Shipping.
