iPhone 13 way overestimates the distance walked

iPhone counts steps correctly, but the distance estimated is way higher then the real one: 20,000 steps aren’t 35 km. It’s around 14 km.

Hello gregorio87,

When tracking your steps, do you only use the iPhone or do you have another device like an Apple Watch or third-party fitness tracker? Even if you only use the iPhone, steps from Calibrating your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy - Apple Support may help.

  1. On your iPhone, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Privacy > Location Services.
  3. Make sure that Location Services is turned on.
  4. Scroll down, then tap System Services.
  5. Make sure that Motion Calibration & Distance is turned on.
  6. Continue with the steps below.

Your personal information, such as your height, weight, gender, and age, is one of the things your Apple Watch [and iPhone] uses to calculate how many calories you burn and more. Learn how to update your personal information.

Thanks!
