MacOS Searching - Can it search based on matching nested folders?

MacOS Searching - Can it search based on matching nested folders?

For example, I have a project folder with three subfolders

ABC 2022

  • Marketing
  • Code
  • ~archive

When I search the term [Marketing 2022 ABC] does the current (or recent) Mac OS list the {ABC 2022:Marketing} folder in the search results? OS Mojave does not.

Why after 46 years of Apple innovation must we continue in 'old school' searching where the file/folder name must contain all relevant keywords instead of the power of a hierarchical folder system becoming a partner to the search algorithms.

In a Spotlight 🔍 search:

kind:folder name:marketing

Just the Marketing folder will appear, but when you press the ⌘-key, the whole path to that Marketing folder is revealed.

In the Finder, with the View menu > Show Path Bar enabled, the result of the search will show a Marketing (Work in this example) folder, and when you click once on it, the full Path is shown at the bottom of that Finder window:

and double-clicking any of the entries prior to the Work folder in that Path Bar will switch the Finder to that location.
