icloud file size versus Mac HD "Get Info

I had an issue with iCloud sync so I turned iCloud Off and On and saved an archive in the process. When comparing iCloud and archived files, I noticed the iCloud file size "on disk" is quite a bit larger 3 MB than the actual described file size of 2.4 MB (2,388,880 bytes) listed just prior to the 3MB. Also listed on the title bar as 2.4 MB and the archived file copy lists 2.4 MB "on Disk," so something happened when downloading the file from the iCloud sync. 0.6 MB per file could quickly add up to a lot of wasted space.
