well, ive tried clearing up most of the space on the internal drive but havent had any luck, so i figured that maybe id can try to update thru my usb. most of the space is filled from my account, but the part thats taking up a bunch of space is the "other" folder. im pretty sure i submitted a question about how to clear it up, but i didnt get much help. i can send screenshots so maybe you can help clear it up?

ive tried my best to clean up as much as possible, but so far no luck. p.s; the app that takes the most space is to install the new update. so apart from that, i dont really take too much space (i think)

let me know if you can help!

You cannot install macOS Monterey on a usb thumb stick. I Recommend to do some cleaning on your internal drive and install Monterey on your internal drive. If you really want to install it external: arrange an external SSD, format that one to APFS and install Monterey on that one.

But again, installing an OS on an external drive slows the computer down. I only install an OS on an external SSD if I want to test/check things in older macOS versions
