New iPhone 13 Pro Max Ultrawide Camera suddenly not working, Unable to Determine Genuine Part Error

The ultrawide camera on my new iPhone 13 Pro Max (activated on Aug 16th 2022) suddenly stopped working yesterday. The phone has never been abused or been dropped, went into a protective case with good ventilation on day one. The ultrawide camera was working earlier in the day. I went to take a photo of a dish for a recipe and the camera app locked up. When I rebooted the phone the ultrawide camera no longer works and I am now receiving an error message in settings saying

"Unknown Part, Unable to determine if your iPhone camera is a genuine Apple part. This could be because the part is non-genuine, not functioning as expected, or the installation is incomplete."

I have hard reset the iPhone, have tested to ensure the other 2 camera lenses and the flash work. I have factory reset the iPhone and have updated the iPhone to iOS 16.0.2 (most recent at the time of writing this).

At this point this appears to be a hardware failure. I have scheduled an appointment to have the phone inspected by an Apple Certified Service Center (Best Buy). Very disappointing to have a probable major hardware failure less than two months into owning this phone.
