apple watch series 8 microphone not working

Yes, i do have same problem. i went to the nearest apple authorise service center.

They said that this is known issue to apple, they will resolve this issue by upcomming os updates and replacement is not possible in this case.

Yes. I was going to return it but just discovered it is a software bug that Apple is working to fix. Sometimes restarting the watch can fix it temporarily in the mean time.

The Apple Watch 9.0.2 update was released today, and it seems to have fixed the mic problem.

Install the new software update on your iPhone, then update the watch.

The mic problem seems to be solved with the latest update. It’s been a couple days since the update, and the problem hasn’t reoccurred.

You are right, it worked a few times for me but now I have to restart the watch for it to work again. We have to wait for apple to release a fix to solve this bugging-bug :/

Yes! Restarting sometimes helps, but the issue will arise again. Hopefully Apple is working on a fix. Extremely annoying.

hello. Yes I am having the same issue. Apparently apple is aware of this issue and it is affecting the masses. They advised that they are working on a solution and believe a software update could help.

Im also facing the same issue of watch series 7. Issue persist after latest watch OS update to version 9.0.2. Customer care told hardware issue. Same dilemma as u. Which is ur model

I’ve only had this Series 8 a couple weeks, and find this issue really frustrating. Sometimes the mic works, and sometimes it doesn’t. Mostly doesn’t. I’m ready to return it, and wait till they fix the problem hardware or software before getting it again.

I also have experienced the same problem with my series 8 Watch. I first noticed it when Shazam couldn’t hear a song. Then again when trying to answer a call.

This works first time only. After doing this time it works for first call and after few minutes agian microphone stop working.

It may have been a lucky coincidence that it worked for you. I turned handoff off, and back on in both in the Watch app as well as the iPhone settings, and the mic still doesn’t work.
