should mailbox behaviors sync on all mac devices

I use iCloud Mail to keep my mac mail in sync on my two macs and one mac book. The mailboxes are always in sync. However, if I change a mailbox behavior setting, e.g. how long are deleted message kept before being erased, the settings do not sync. Should settings such as this sync?

See the article Change Mailbox Behaviours preferences in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

Note : mailbox behaviour preferences are confined to an individual Mac , they will never sync to another Mac even the two Macs are signed in with same Apple ID and password on the same network .

Thank you tygb! The nice individuals I communicated with on Apple Support did not know this. They thought there was a problem in my configuration. BTW - it would be helpful if Mailbox Behaviors like amount of time to erase sent messages did sync to prevent conflicts between devices. As it is, you need to make sure all your devices are configured the same way.
