IPad Pro Preview of PDF forces thumbnail view

A few months ago my IPad Preview app began showing all PDF files with thumbnails. I cannot figure out how to toggle back to no thumbnail mode.

How do I hide the large image preview in albums on iPad? On my iPad, there is a large image under the thumbnails in my albums. I don’t want it there. I have researched it. Apple support says at the top of the album, press the three bars at the top and click Hide Preview. When I click the bars there is no Hide Preview option. Can someone please help me turn this off. How to fix iPad Pro app switcher thumbnail issues? The thumbnails in the app switcher are not showing current status of the app. Specially I keep seeing in the Chrome thumbnail a page that was opened weeks ago and it’s not even in the history of chrome anymore. But the thumbnail keeps going back at it. Restarting Chrome or the IPad itself doesn’t solve the problem. its like the thumbnail is cached and never changes. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

If you'd like to review a PDF file without the thumbnails displayed on the side, you'll want to open the PDF file in the Books app instead: Read PDF documents in Books on iPad - Apple Support
