All Windows Are Transparent, So Transparent I Cannot Watch Videos

Just hooked up my Mac Mini (M1 2020) to my Apple Cinema Display (20 in. 1680 x 1050) and every window is VERY transparent and everything is blurry and not sharp.. The transparency is so bad I can't watch a video, it's like looking at a reflection on a glass window. I bought this Mac Mini in December 2020 just before the pandemic. A lot of things happened and I never hooked it up till today, October 2nd, 2022. i bought it directly from Apple. The display is dated but lightly used. I may have used it for 3 years at the most before I got my MacBookPro over 10 years ago which no longer works properly because Apple quit making updates for it 5 years ago so now I need this Mini to be working. I tried reducing the transparency and it have no visible effects. The MacMini came loaded with BigSur11.1. Am now doing the update to Monterey in hopes this fixes it. Anyone else have this problem or any suggestions for a fix?
