I've heard a lot of people are having a black screen in the camera App after the IOS 16 Update and I'm one of them. Is there already a fix for this, because it's been almost a month and now you can't even downgrade to IOS 15. Is Apple even aware of this problem?

Apparently on my iPhone 8 Plus, my camera app suddenly stopped working and it only shows black screen when I opened up the Camera app and I can’t take pictures, but the selfie camera works for me only, I tried to fix it by freeing up storage and memories and I updated my software to iOS 16.6 (The maximum of the software version), but still, it never works, and my flashlight is also not working
I had the same exact experience. Camera turned black after ios 16.2 update. Brought it to Apple Service Center and they charged me to pay for replacement or fix the hardware. Like what in the earth will I pay if it’s the update that caused the issue.
Is Apple making the update a reason to gain money?
Same here. Apple shop told me to buy a new phone, it wasn't a problem Apple had told them about, quote "if we were to follow every problem about iPhones on the internet, we'd never get to work". Thank you guys.
Tried everything suggested including factory reset, still does not work at all. Before the factory reset, the front camera still worked. I am sooooo angry. Iphone 12, bought in November 2020.
What do you mean by power cycled?
This is happening on one of my iPhone 11's with iOS updated 16.2
Also Emails disappearing and having to reload every time I open the Mail app. iPhone 13's that I know of
Also the camera app not sending an Email photo. iPhone 11's through 13's that I know of

did you find a way to fix it? i’m having the same issue my front camera is black but yet my back camera works fine. the ipad isnt cracked at all. i’m thinking maybe software glitch? but i have updated it to the latest ios and reset settings.
Guys I literally have the same issue it’s been happening ever since I updated to the iOS 17.2 (I have an xs) like my ig back camera works but it’s zoomed in so I tried zooming in my actual camera app to 2x and it started working I think it only works if you use zoom camera idk but Apple should seriously fix this it’s getting annoying..

I restarted and rebooted to new… no luck. All of this happened after the 17.5.1 update.
Hello, my front camera is also like everyone else on this thread a black screen after updating with your software. Can you please fix this !!!!!
Try zooming out that’s the only thing that worked for me 😭
My back camera is also not working. When I switch to .5 for photo and video it begins to work again but not at 1 or 2.
my Flashlight is also not working
so what is a solution?
My rear camera is a black screen. The forward facing camera is fine.

iPhone 13 Pro iOS 16.3.1 (20D67) same issue, rear cameras. Occasionally works in cinema mode.
Getting the same problem but I haven’t seen a solution from apple . Do they support this group.
