aol rejecting mac mail
I believe this is an ongoing issue. I need help getting AOL to play nicely with my Mac Mail Application.
The issue is that for the AOL account Mac Mail started sending a notice that it cannot sign in to AOL and asks for the password. But then it (or AOL) does not accept the password.
This has happened in the past and I found out that AOL wants us to use their Account Security page to generate a Password for 3rd-Party App.
I did that, and it worked. But for some reason the notice came up again.
The problem is that this time, the Account Security page is not generating a password "this feature is not available right now!". See the screenshot attached. ... (wondering why the exclamation point... are they proud of this situation?)
I searched around a bit and see that others are having this problem, like for months. I have not seen the answer.
At this point I would like to ditch AOL because this is unacceptable. But I have too many years of email history that I do not want to lose.
Any solutions?
