When I open the IPlugmate app it disappears immediately. I removed the app and downloaded it again, but it still doesn’t work properly. I am trying to backup my iPhone 12 to my HooToo flash drive but without IPlugmate working properly, I can’t backup my iPhone.
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Doesnt fix the problem with the device.
the HooToo flash drive uses iPlugmate driver. The company folded in 2017. Theres no more updates for the driver and it doesnt work with the newer phones… because it needs an update. In short…. Its garbage and you have buy a new one. There is no fix.

So the only solution is to get a lightning to usb a adapter. so we can see in files the key
Hootoo and then recover photos and manage this key by the USP port. thank you.

Sadly you can't. iOS 16 has rendered it unusable. I've searched high and low for a solution without success. I've also searched for a similar device and can only find cheap Chinese junk with terrible apps and awful navigation... I just copy my stuff now directly from my phone in explorer in my computer.
Hi everyone! I want to point out that since IPlugmate is NOT an Apple app and was not developed by them … Apple cannot fix it. You will need find a way to contact the developer with your questions. It is the responsibility of third party app developers to make their product compatible with different devices.
This is not an Apple issue, it’s IPlugmate that needs to update the app. It appears this is discontinued so there’s little to Jo chance that will happen. I was able to successfully revert back to iOS 15 and copy whatever I needed from IPlugmate to my phone. I just purchased a different brand to store what I need from my phone. If you need to recover documents then you probably should revert back to iOS 15 to retrieve these from the drive.

I gave up waiting for a fix for iPlugmate and purchased iDiskk, which looks similar to a Hootoo flash drive but not exact. However when I downloaded the companion iDiskk Max app it looked very suspiciously close to iPlugmate. Perhaps the company has rebranded itself. In any case it all works fine on a iPhone 14 Pro Max with IOS 16. You just have to shell out more money for the new flash drive and use your hootoo only on PCs.
HELLO, SINCE IOS 16, ALL MY 128 gig USB/lightning KEY ARE NO LONGER RECOGNIZED BY IPLUGMATE, TRIPMATE AND THE APPLICATION HAS DISAPPEARED FROM THE APPSTORE. WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THESE PERIPHERALS? THIS GADJETS STILL ON AMAZON WE CAN BUY IT BUT THEY DONT WORK.

So, from what I can gather, RavPower are the sole distributor of the HooToo flash drives, and the latest model uses a new app called U-Hub......which is not available for download in the USA!!!!!!! Amazing. So, I think your chances of getting an update on the old iplugmate app are slim-to-none.

If you want to retrieve your files from your hootoo iplugmate device, you should plug it to a usb hub. I think theres a lot of USB hubs in amazon specialized for iphone. From there, open the Files app and you will see the Hootoo folder where you saved your files. Mine worked and opened it to my ipadPRo. I hope this works for you.
Just went to use my iPlugmate this morning and it crashes straight away on both my iPhone and myiPad. It seems thsat the device is now useless on an iOS16 device.....
Much like everybody else they made an app got some money and then stop updating it and if I’m not mistaken, you can look on the Apple store and not find it anymore. But last time I checked, it hadn’t been updated in like four years.
