Hulu has just disappeared from the Main Menu of my Apple TV 3rd generation. Since I can't access the App Store on a gen 3, I can't find it to put it back. It was originally pre-loaded, and I've watched it for year; but now it just disappeared. I've tried both update and restart.

I literally purchased an Apple TV HD a few weeks ago and discovered tonight I have to stream from my laptop. I'm pretty sure that means I am powering two devices to watch a piece of multimedia designed to be "seen anywhere". Why have an App on the App Store but make the Apple TV a gateway burdened by only promoting it's content?
Thanks for all the replies and the help. I preferred the simplicity of the Apple tv 3, but I ended up purchasing the latest release through a Black Friday special and I am back in business. I appreciate all the replies, you’re awesome!
I had not looked at the details of the Apple TV generations. With the Apple TV HD, I was able to download Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime… but… when you try and Airplay from a desktop, all of those show a black screen, audio only. I’ve tried several things to debug (speed, reset modem, restarted Apple TV and desktop. It seems AirPlay won’t play nice with steaming video from a desktop/laptop.
Hulu no longer lists the Apple TV (3rd generation) as a supported device, in a support document dated Oct 03, 2022.
Are they going to bring it back? I only watch through my Apple TV!!! I loved Hulu.

This is ridiculous. It worked for years and now it is just gone. This is not an advancement in technology.
i actually did just airplay it from my phone, but it’s a totally different format on the mobile version. I’ll try contacting Hulu. It’s just so strange how it just disappeared.
It just happened to me too. Really sucks that they would do this with no warning just as they raise prices too. They did the same thing with CNNGO app.
Planned obsolescence that forces us to purchase new or Apple products because companies like Hulu will not spend the money to update older equipment. Thieves

Apps have slowly been disappearing from my old AppleTv for awhile. I have 2 others that are newer that work fine. Frustrated to not be able to watch HBO or Hulu on my kitchen tv.
Oh great, watching one day and nothing the next. No warning or notice of any kind. Now I have to cancel the subscription and apply for a refund for days lost.
Same so sick. I guess I won’t be using Apple TV anymore. Better to get a firestick
