Hulu has just disappeared from the Main Menu of my Apple TV 3rd generation. Since I can't access the App Store on a gen 3, I can't find it to put it back. It was originally pre-loaded, and I've watched it for year; but now it just disappeared. I've tried both update and restart.

Hulu no longer lists the Apple TV (3rd generation) as a supported device, in a support document dated Oct 03, 2022.

Hulu works just fine on the Apple TV 4 and later.
My Hulu app disappeared yesterday too from my 3rd gen Apple TV also! So frustrating as I've used it for years. Not thrilled about having to buy another apple TV or a Roku just to get it back. Why would they do this?
Good question! There was no notice—it just disappeared. And then I spent over an hour with Hulu Help trying to figure out the problem with no answer. So evidently they didn’t notify their employees either! I’m hoping I can still get it to work with AirPlay, because I can’t afford a new AppleTV.

Last night spend an hour restarting, unplugging three Apple TVs and wireless router.
Tonight used Hulu chat. Never got past #85 before they claimed connection issues and started back at 99+.
Called, waited 17 minutes before the agent answered, they couldn't hear me and hung up.
Hulu has no concept of customer service. Outraged with no way to reach Hulu to express it.
I tried on my iPad too, and now there are several shows you need to pay more for. It’s seriously ridiculous that they raise prices then take the app away and make you pay more to watch normal network shows.,
Could you please provide the Hulu Customer Service phone number you called and got a live person (even though they disconnected)?

I literally purchased an Apple TV HD a few weeks ago and discovered tonight I have to stream from my laptop. I'm pretty sure that means I am powering two devices to watch a piece of multimedia designed to be "seen anywhere". Why have an App on the App Store but make the Apple TV a gateway burdened by only promoting it's content?

No offense but, if you can't run the Hulu app from your current ATV, either it doesn't work right or you don't understand how it works.

Thanks for all the replies and the help. I preferred the simplicity of the Apple tv 3, but I ended up purchasing the latest release through a Black Friday special and I am back in business. I appreciate all the replies, you’re awesome!
I had not looked at the details of the Apple TV generations. With the Apple TV HD, I was able to download Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime… but… when you try and Airplay from a desktop, all of those show a black screen, audio only. I’ve tried several things to debug (speed, reset modem, restarted Apple TV and desktop. It seems AirPlay won’t play nice with steaming video from a desktop/laptop.
This is ridiculous. It worked for years and now it is just gone. This is not an advancement in technology.
i actually did just airplay it from my phone, but it’s a totally different format on the mobile version. I’ll try contacting Hulu. It’s just so strange how it just disappeared.
It just happened to me too. Really sucks that they would do this with no warning just as they raise prices too. They did the same thing with CNNGO app.
