Instagram crashing on launch iphone 12

Instagram keeps on closing as soon as I open it on my iphone 12 pro max. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it 3 times, and restarted my iphone. None of the things that I am being told to do online are helping. After reinstall it opens fine but if i close it and then try to open it again it goes back to crashing. i am running ios 14.8.1 but my ipad is running an older version and instagram works fine on it.

• Check if there is an app update available for Instagram in the App Store.

• Update iOS on iPhone (Secure your data with a backup before proceeding)

• Contact the developer of an iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS app

1. Open the App Store on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
2. Search for the app, then tap it. If you can't find it, tap the account button  or your photo at the top of the screen, tap Purchased, tap "Not on this [device]," then tap the app.

3. The app's product page appears. Scroll to the Ratings & Reviews section, then tap App Support. If you don't see App Support, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID.
In the App Store on iPhone, the App Support button is at the bottom of the app's page.
