I exported my health data from my apple watch. The result was three files, two of which are XML files. these are named export.xml and export_cda.xml . according to what I have read on the forums, the xml files should open with Microsoft Excel. However these files do not. So the question is, besides a text editor, how can I open these export xml files?

Right click on the xml file, click 'open with', choose excel from the list (if excel is not in the list click 'other ...' then 'applications', then 'Microsoft Excel App'.

Fieryjack, the problem is the xml files which do not open using Excel. They do open in a text based editor but those are not useful. I tried to change the extension to CSV also and the result was a spreadsheet of mass chaos haha.
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately excel will not open the files. that is why I am trying to find something else besides any text editor which do open the file in text and that is not useful.
