Does AppleCare cover water damage to Apple Watch Ultra?

I see many comments about water damage to iPhone not being covered, but nothing on the iWatch. I am particularly interested in this Q as the Ultra iWatch is advertised as 'swimproof' but have also noted that its regular warranty does not cover water damage? Seems a little backhanded to advertise a feature and not back it up. As such, wondering if having apple care would solve that issue. I have looked at the terms/ conditions of coverage but don't see language that explicitly deals with that issue re the watches.

Hello eyeamwatchingyou,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It is correct that the Apple limited warranty does not cover liquid contact damage. However, Apple Care+ allows for coverage of any accidental damage. Per the Apple Support article: "Accidental Damage means physical damage from handling due to unexpected and unintentional events." This would allow you to have the Apple Watch Ultra repaired or replaced at an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, by Apple authorized technicians, using genuine Apple parts. Info on Apple Care+ can be found here:

Howdy eyeamwatchingyou,

We understand wanting to confirm this, no worries!

We'd recommend checking through the Terms and Conditions to confirm what all is outlined; however, accidental damage including liquid contact can be covered with AppleCare+. This depends on the events that led to the accident, and more details including pricing can be found within the Terms and Conditions. You'll want to look at section 3.2, which is the third page of the link provided.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Take care!

I am guessing you’re a lawyer as it’s a classic response a lawyer would give…non committal…refer to terms & conditions. Lol. Ive read them (terms) already….before I asked my question. But my take, based on my review is that “liquid contact” (or any other accidental damage) ought to be covered unless excluded. That said, the policy lack definitions of certain key terms, including what constitutes an accident or what would be considered willful or reckless. Anyway, thanks for the prompt replies.
