When I travel I usually buy a SIM from a local carrier to avoid the big international fees Verizon charges. Will I still be able to temporarily transfer my phone to another carrier when I'm on vacation with eSIM or am I screwed with the iPhone 14?

If the carrier where you travel supports eSim, you should be able to do that.

I travel a lot and use other country's SIM cards to avoid hefty international charges. Can I still do this with eSIM?
