iPhone 13 pro temperature warning while charging

So last night my phone was kept on charge and after a few minutes I saw the temperature warning on my screen, the phone was so hot I could barely hold it. Immediately I unplugged the charging cable and let it cool down for a few minutes. After letting it cool down, I tried to plug it in. It started up but the touch was not working and again the phone started overheating, it also started shutting down and turning on itself until the battery drained. I left the phone by itself unplugged after seeing this until the next morning. The next morning I tried to plug it in, and the battery logo came on the screen and disappeared after 2 seconds. There is no sign of life, it is only heating up if I try to charge it. I'm using the cable which came in the box and the 20W USB C Apple adaptor.
