Backup drive for iMac 2020

Is there a good/better/best portable hard drive for an iMac 2020? I thought I might get your input on this if I may. I run BigSur 11.7

Much appreciated.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

LaCie drives are an excellent option to be used as Time Machine backup disks.

Here are the two LaCie drive models Apple sells:

Either one would work without issue to backup your Mac with Time Machine:

Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support.

Make sure to buy the LaCie drive in a capacity that's 2x larger than the disk(s) you need to backup.

Hello, sorry took me awhile to get back. I feel it is best to have my system backed up, so I thought I would get a portable drive. I know Apple sells "Lacie" but I know there are many others, I just wanted to get your thoughts on the matter.

Personally I am not a fan of LaCie drives as I had 2 die within a couple of years. Years ago I was referred to OWC (macsales.com) Mercury Elite Pros. Since then no enclosure failures. When the drive dies (the all do) it took less than 5 minutes to install a new drive and be back up and running.
